Like the Paris-Roubaix Challenge and the Liège-Bastogne-Liège Challenge, the Paris-Nice Challenge offers amateur cyclists the chance to get as near as possible to a legendary professional race. 24 hours before Paris-Nice’s professional riders, amateur cyclists had the chance to ride the route that the peloton took on Sunday 12th March 2017. During this challenge, the cyclists did four climbs for a total D+ of 1775m and a total length of 110km.
Two segments were timed : the Col de Châteauneuf (5.6km with an average gradient of 4.3%) and the Peille climb – Col de Saint-Pancrace (8.5km with an average gradient of 5.5%).
